HOW:            Enroll for this class by emailing NFDPeerSupport@nashville.gov

                      Include ALL the following Information for

NFD EMPLOYEE: NAME, Current Assignment, Shift, Date of Hire, Date of Birth

First Responder/Spouse/Significant Other: Full NAME, Employer, Contact Number

 

WHO:

Any First Responder can enroll! A First Responder who has taken the 16hr Peer Support class or is enrolling in the Peer Support can have their spouse or significant other also register to take the class.                        

                        ONLY 30 Spots Available!

Class Information:

 The Nashville Fire Department Behavioral Health and Wellness Program, in cooperation with the Nashville Training Academy, will host a 16-Hour Peer Support Class on February 24-25, 2024. The class will be held at the Nashville Training Academy 2601 Buena Vista Pike. You must attend both days, Monday and Tuesday, and meet all curriculums for certification. This class is limited in participants. Attendance will be on your own time, shift days will require you to use an accrued leave day (Vacation, Personal, Holiday). Class selection will be on a first come first served basis. This class meets NFPA 1500 2021 edition  Chapter 12 Behavioral Health and Wellness Programs 12.1.1.2 & 12.1.1.3.

*** The class is voluntary, and no overtime or comp time will be paid or allowed. ***

PREREQUISITES:

  • 2-Hour Class Counseling on Access to Lethal Means (CALM). Course completion certification required prior to class. To enroll in class, click the link below:

  • 2-Hour Class Behavioral Health Awareness. This is a two-hour, self-paced online course that provides an overview of common behavioral health problems that impact fire service personnel. To enroll in class, click the link below:
